Stern Pinball has since become the largest manufacturer of pinball machines in the world. Stern pinball machines' Big Game was the first pinball machine to incorporate a digital scoring display with 7 digits.

Several legendary pinball machine designers from Stern, like Steve Ritchie, Pat Lawlor, George Gomez, and Dennis Nordman, are currently designing Stern pinball machines.
