Star Wars Episode 1Mfr Date: 2000 - Bally / Williams Qty Made: Production Game – Approximately 6,500 were made. Designer: John Popadiuk Artwork: Kevin O'Connor, Paul Barker Reasons We Like This Game: Star Wars Episode 1 is the second machine created on the awesome Bally/Williams Pinball 2000 platform. (Revenge from Mars was the first). Sadly enough, it's also the last pinball designed by legend John Popadiuk and the very last pinball ever made by Williams / Bally. Later that year, Bally / Williams ceased their pinball machine operations in Chicago, and moved their production facilities to Las Vegas to build highly profitable slot machines. The Pinball 2000 platform is a wonder to behold. The game features amazing 3-D animation and booming stereo sound made possible by a 19" monitor in the backbox and a Pentium P266 motherboard powering the machine! Animation and 3D visual effects are made possible by a 3DFX graphics card while the picture is projected, then reflected off of a specially tinted and treated playfield glass! The aliens and characters literally look like they are all over the playfield! The graphics and music are perfectly synchronized with the ball, and there are a whopping 10 modes to complete each with it's own graphics, animation and sounds! Once you complete all 10 modes, your neon light saber lights, and you are thrown into a duel with Dark Maul which features an awesome video enhanced four ball multi-ball! Defeat Dark Maul four times (40 modes) and you'll conquer the game! (Jedi Youth, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, and Jedi Spirit). Star Wars Episode 1 features a great balance of hard shots and easy shots along with a perfect amount of left shots and right shots. It’s a great game since beginning pinball players can play for fun, but it also has a deep enough rule set to give experienced pinball players a run for their money! Created as a very complex and challenging game with deep rule sets, Star Wars Episode 1 features EIGHT different types of multi-ball play and is as much fun to watch as it is to play! Interactive characters (Queen Amadala, C3PO, R2D2, Jar Jar, etc.) talk to you throughout the game, and each mode is ingenious by utilizing almost every main character from the film! One of only two games in the world with a 19” monitor and a Pentium computer as it's brains, you have to play it to see just how amazing it is! Like most pinball machines, Star Wars Episode 1 has two flippers, three jet bumpers, ramp shots, stationary targets, and cool computerized virtual spinners! Authorized by Lucas Film, this is the ultimate Star Wars collectible! Special Features: Star Wars Episode 1 is one of only two games ever created with a 19” monitor and a Pentium computer running the show. The game synchronizes the pinball perfectly with the graphics and animation, and envelops the player in a pinball experience different from any other! The sound system was developed specifically for the Pinball 2000 platform and will blow you away when you crank it up! The sounds are crystal clear and the bass will rumble your room with it's large subwoofer in the cabinet base. Star Wars Episode 1 has some of the best effects ever programmed for a pinball machine... Imagine shooting the ball at spacecrafts or aliens projected in 3D on the playfield, and as the ball passes through them, the machine records it as a hit and the ship blows up! There’s also neat ramp shots where the ball is caught mid-air, and computer generated 3D virtual spinners that look and operate so well you'd swear they were the real thing! Last but not least, the game has a high intensity neon light running the length of the playfield that lights up during your duels with Dark Maul! Full of beautiful artwork and fantastic sound effects, this is the last Star Wars pinball machine ever created (Data East Star Wars 1992, and Sega Star Wars Trilogy 1996) are the earlier machines. Without a doubt , this machine is one of the most technologically advanced machines ever created, and is truly the ultimate Star Wars collectable! Because it's also the last machine ever created by Williams and Bally, Star Wars Episode 1 makes a great investment as well! Unique Special Features: This particular game is HUO (Home Use Only) and has had only one owner. Originally purchased by a private individual for their game room, this machine has never seen "location" (commercial) use, looks brand new, is in mint condition, and has less than 75 total plays!
