Space JamMfr Date: 1997 – Sega Pinball Qty Made: Production Model – approximately 5,000 were made. Designer: Joe Kaminkow, Orin Day, Lonnie Ropp Artwork: Morgan Weistling Reasons We Like This Game: Hard to believe, but this is only the second pinball machine ever granted a license by Looney Tunes! The first was back in 1990 for Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball. But with a star as big as MJ, who can resist! There's so many things to do in this game! Let's see, there's the big basketball inside the playfield, nine stationary targets, three jet bumpers, three drop targets, three out holes, two ball diverters, two magnets, and one ramp too! Add to that MJ and the cute cartoon characters from the movie and you have a one great playing AND looking collectable piece. Not only is the game super fun to play, but it's also the greatest Michael Jordan collectable ever created! One of the coolest features about Space Jam has to be the three point shot... The ball goes up a ramp, hits a miniature back board where a magnet grabs the ball, then it drops through the hoop! On the right side of the playfield is the big basketball... The ball gets ejected up there, and is grabbed by a magnet! Both of the magnet shots are cool tricks and fun to watch! Notably, Space Jam has some great ball flow (like all of Joe Kaminkow's games) and is a very smooth playing overall! There’s plenty of modes to do before reaching the wizard mode, and is a great pinball for adults and kids alike! Space Jam has FOUR different types of multi-ball play, and a FIVE ball multiball! Destined to be a classic collectable forever, Space Jam is also a great playing game that everyone will enjoy for years to come! Special Features: Space Jam has plenty of features simply not found on any other pinball machine. For beginners, it has two miniature basketball nets inside playfield... The first is where you actually launch the ball, and the second is off of a ramp shot where you attempt the 3 point shot! Additionally, there’s a two digit shot clock, so you only have 20 seconds otherwise you have to start the shot sequence all over again! Just like the game if the timer reaches zero, you don’t get points for the shot unless the ball is midair. Last but not least there's the miniature basketball inside the playfield that the pinball gets ejected into for a ball lock. The best part is when the pinballs come flying out of the basketball when you get the multiball! Space Jam has a superior art package, and includes most of the classic Looney Tunes characters throughout! (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, Marvin the Matrian, etc.) It even has plenty of sound bites from all of the main characters including our hometown hero MJ himself! The sound effects and music are crystal clear and vibrant thanks to Sega Pinball’s BST 2000 digital stereo sound system! Like all of Sega's games, the backbox is called a "showcase backbox" due to it's contemporary curved style, and only found on machine produced by Sega. Already a hot collectable, this machine makes an excellent investment too, as it's value continues to rise throughout the years! Grab one while they're still around! As with all of our games, we have installed the latest rom revision. - Revision 1.0 Click here to check out our Total Pinball Restoration Process!
