Lost in SpaceMfr Date: 1998 – Sega Qty Made: Production Game – Approximately 600 were made. Reasons We Like This Game: With a production run of only 600 units, Lost in Space is one of the rarer late 90's titles. Why is the number so low? The answer is two-fold. While an excellent playing pinball machine, Lost in Space the movie never attained blockbuster status so sales suffered as a result. On top of this, the game was late going into production and started shipping after the movie had already been in theatres. (Check out the black sides of the backbox. Games were shipped without this artwork because it was never completed in time!) But who cares! We love this game and consider it a rare gem! The artwork is incredibly beautiful, the animation and sound are top notch and if you're a Lost in Space fan you've found the coolest collectable of them all! Lost in Space has lots to do including four jet bumpers, two out holes, two ramps, nine stationary targets, two magnets, three inbound lanes and two spinners! Because of the wide open layout the game has lots of really sweet shots and great ball flow. There’s smooth flowing orbits, nicely laid out ramp shots, and plenty of stuff shoot for. But the best feature of all has to be the magnetized spinning disc in the middle of the playfield! The spinning disc randomly throws balls around, (kind of like Whirlwind) but to make things more interesting, there’s magnets in the middle of the disc that pulse on and off too! It's pretty cool to see this in action. Lost in Space has what we consider the most unique multi-ball feature ever created. (It's a lot like Twister, but we'll leave this as a surprise for you to find out on your own!) On top of this there's another three multi ball modes, each one different from the next! (A 2,3 and 4-ball multiball) Perfect for players of all ages and skill levels, Lost in Space makes a remarkable (and rare) addition to the family gameroom! Special Features: Lost in Space is rare with only 600 units built and is simply beautiful to look at. The artwork, playfield toys, digital stereo sound effects, animation sequences etc. are simply top notch! The wire form ramps are beautifully powered coated in blue. Lost in Space is only one of two games ever created with a magnetized spinning disc! (Twister was the other) It's a pretty awesome feature because not only do the magnets pulse, but they're also able to gab and hold onto multiple balls while the disc is rotating! Perfect for all ages and abilities, Lost in Space will make an unusual rare addition to your game room! We have installed the latest rom revision as we do with all of our pinball games.
