Reasons We Like This Game:  Cybernaut is a pretty rare Bally pinball machine.  It's quite unusual, which probably explains why they didn't sell that many.  1985 was also a hot year for pinball titles, so perhaps customers chose other titles as opposed to readily buying into the Cybernaut theme.  That said, it's a really great game like everything Bally built!  It's almost like a combination of Star Wars & Aliens with a little T2 mixed in.  Greg Kmiec designed plenty of pinball hits such as Xenon, Breakshot, Captain Fantastic, Paragon, Night Rider, etc.  Doug Watson did the artwork on plenty of hits too, including games such as F14, Barracora, Indiana Jones, Attack From Mars and more!  Most of his pinball artwork packages are bold and bright, but all are quite distinctive in many ways.

Cybernaut has everything you'd expect from a Bally pinball machine including five roll over targets, four stationary targets, four drop targets, a ramp, a spinner, an outhole and three flippers!  The music is pretty far out in this game and what about that backglass...  awesome!  Cybernaut is also a very balanced game with equal left and right shots, and a nice mix of medium to long shots too.

Special Features:  Cybernaut is a multi level game and reminds us of Xenon since there is a ramp and a clear tube the ball flows through to get back onto the playfield.  Did we mention the tilted angled playfield with the three stationary targets on it?  You need to hit the drop targets first to expose a clear shot to the stationary targets It takes some skill and practice to do that but they are always fun!  At first Cybernaut looks like it has a busy playfield, but the pinball machine is actually really smooth and clean to play.  If you're looking for a fun, unusual piece to add to your collection Cybernaut is it!
