Reasons We Like This Game:  Close Encounters of the Third Kind is based on the Sci-Fi Classic from the late 70s and was an incredibly successful game concept for Gottleib.  For good reason!  The game features two jet bumpers, a spinner and various drop and stationary targets.  The most unique feature on the game is the “Roto Target”.  This rotating gizmo spins around like a windmill when you make certain shots; then stops when you hit the various “blades” of the target!  Each time it stops there's three different targets for you to shoot at!  (The one flashing or lit gets you the most points.)  This is a really novel feature that adds randomness and skill to the game!   Close Encounters is a fairly simple game to understand, and will make a great addition to your collection.  A great game for kids, but pretty tough to master if you're an experienced pinball player.  If you're looking for a great game that the whole family can enjoy, Close Encounters will fit the bill nicely!

Special Features:  Close Encounters was one of the first games to feature the “Roto Target” gizmo.  Later on, many other games used this fun little gadget. This game is a non – multi ball game, and uses only one pinball through out the game.  Close Encounters was one of the first pinball machines based on a popular movie and makes a nicely priced collectors piece that you can enjoy throughout the years!
